Meet our Team

Meet Tamara, one of our hardworking Administrative Managers.

Each month one of our favourite things to do at Winterberry is catch up with one of our team members so we can help you get to know them better! This month we’re celebrating Tamara. Read on to find out about Tamara, her role at Winterberry and why she is happy to be part of our team:

How long have you been with Winterberry?

I have been with Winterberry for just over two years.

Tell us about your work at Winterberry. What’s your role?

At Winterberry, I am the Administrative Team Leader. I manage our hard working administrative team at both of our Winterberry locations. This consists of creating new protocols with upper management to ensure smooth operations at both locations. I also support the admin team with the daily tasks such as answering phones, checking patients in at the window, and assisting patients with their concerns. I create weekly task lists for both locations and monthly schedules. Any concerns the admin team has is brought to my attention and I assist in having it managed.

What made you want to work in Administration?

I originally received my Business Administration diploma in 2008, but after COVID-19 (and my second child), I wanted to go back to school in the medical field. I love the organization of administration and how we’re on the front lines. So in 2021, I went back to school to specialize in Medical Administration.

What made you want to be part of the Winterberry team compared to other clinics?

Winterberry has a lot of programs that most doctor’s offices don’t offer. Weight Management, Research Trials, Mental Health Counselling, to name a few. I really liked the scope of this practice and what we offer to the community.

Is there an average day at Winterberry?

There is NEVER an average day here. Things will be quiet and then, poof, we’re off to the races.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Honestly, there are so many parts I love about my job. The team would be number one. We are more than coworkers, we are family. I also really enjoy the patient interactions. We’re always a friendly face and comfort for patients who may be sick or struggling. This job is so incredibly rewarding.

When you’re not at Winterberry, what will we find you doing? (Hobbies, etc).

When I’m not at work, you will find me with my two boys, probably at a hockey rink. I also run a small business doing makeup in my spare time.
